Boston Magazine Top Dentists 2020

Each year, Boston Magazine produces a list of the best dentists in Boston, including experts in fields such as periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics and more. To be one of the best dentists in Boston does not happen by accident

Our practice provides the following endodontic services:

Root Canal Therapy

Endodontists specialize in saving natural teeth and in performing root canals. Endodontic — or root canal — treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected.

Root Canal Retreatment

Occasionally a tooth that has undergone endodontic, root canal therapy fails to heal. If pain or infection recurs despite therapy, the tooth often can be maintained with a second endodontic treatment.

Apicoectomy

In this procedure, the endodontist opens the gum tissue near the tooth to see the underlying bone and to remove any inflamed or infected tissue. Over a period of months, the bone heals around the end of the root.

Cracked Tooth

Endodontists specialize in saving cracked teeth and will cater treatment to the type, location, and extent of the crack. Once treated, most cracked teeth continue to function as they should, for many years of pain-free biting and chewing.

Internal Bleaching

Internal bleaching is treatment for cases in which teeth are darkened or discolored and the stains do not respond to external whitening treatments. It can only be done on root canal treated teeth.

Trauma

Timely treatment is particularly important with dislodged or knocked-out teeth in order to prevent root resorption. Endodontists will do all that is possible to save the natural tooth.
