Dr. Kathleen Molgaard grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts. She graduated Cum Laude from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania with a dual bachelor’s degree in biology and French.
She returned home to Massachusetts to study dentistry and received her DMD degree Cum Laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Molgaard stayed at Tufts for her specialty training to earn her Certificate in Endodontics. Dr. Molgaard is Board Certified by the American Board of Endodontics.
During her dental training, Dr. Molgaard served as the National Vice Chair of the American Dental Education Association Council of Students Residents and Fellows. Upon graduating, she was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and received the Alumni Clinical Excellence Award in Endodontics.
Dr. Molgaard has presented research across the country and has been published in the Journal of Dental Education; she believes in an evidence-based approach to practicing dentistry. Above all, Dr. Molgaard is devoted to quality and compassionate patient care. Outside of the office, Dr. Molgaard enjoys skiing, running, and spending time with her family.

Premier Endodontics in Waltham is fantastic. I saw Dr. Kathleen Molgaard yesterday and she is super skilled, super kind and made the experience so amazingly comfortable for me. Not enough stars to compliment her fully! Her assistant/hygienist, Maria was great, also! Staff is so friendly and the office is meticulous. Very impressive!!
Of course you don’t WANT a root canal, but if you’ve got to get one, this is the place to go.
I was treated with respect (despite my quarantine hair and my apparent inability to put on respectable-looking clothes anymore) and and abundance of kindness through the entire process. Not what I would do for fun, obviously, but as painless in every sense as it could possibly be. I saw Dr. Molgaard who I don’t see mentioned in other reviews but who is also awesome.
I am so so deeply thankful to this practice for booking a same-day root canal appointment for me when I was in agony and unable to sleep the previous night. I couldn’t imagine waiting one more day to get the procedure done. They were able to see me within 2 hours of me calling and it was painless as soon as the novocaine set in.
Highly recommend this practice. Dr. Molgaard and Dr. Jones went the extra mile to diagnose and treat some bizarre and debilitating nerve pain I was having. They’re technically skilled and yet they also have fantastic chairside manner. They take the time to explain as well as to listen. Definitely worth the drive from Boston.
My old root canal was severely infected and painful. These wonderful endodontist looked to see if it could be saved and it could. They were honest and upfront about risk of loosing my tooth. They called me every night for 3 days and brought me back for long-acting Novocain so I did not have to take too much pain medicine. My tooth is saved and I have made new friends, My husband saw them and loved them and my son will see them soon.
I was in excruciating pain. My dentist referred me as he could not see what the problem was through X-rays, etc.
Dr. Molgaard saw me and she was so great performed an emergency root canal. I had never had the procedure before but once she identified the tooth that was causing the entire right side of my mouth to experience unrelenting pain, she numbed me and relieved the pain immediately. The procedure was a piece of cake compared to my pain. She explained everything, had a sense of humor and even gave me her number to follow up the next day even though she was away for the Christmas holiday.
I don’t like dentists but I really liked Dr. Molgaard. I was referred here for a root canal, Dr. Molgaard helped ease my anxiety. She explained the process and informed me of what to expect every step of the way. Everyone was super nice. This office has good taste in music too!
This was my first root canal so I don’t have much to compare her to. Nevertheless I would venture to say Dr. Molgaard did an excellent job on my Root Canal. I wouldn’t hesitate to have her perform another one for me at some time in the future.
I needed an emergency root canal 2 days before Christmas and was referred to her office. I was in excruciating pain and she quickly identified the source and numbed my pain away while she did her work. She explained everything, had a sense of humor and had a great “chairside manner.” Even though she was leaving that night for the holiday, she gave me her cell phone to text to let her know how I was doing. Very pleased with the treatment.
Premier Endodontics and Dr. Molgaard were phenomenal. I was referred with high recommendations from my primary dentist and his positive expectations were true. They got me in short notice for an infected tooth and Dr Molgaard performed the root canal with precision, pain free (less than any filling) and very sociable and good bedside manner. The music was good too! High caliber, friendly, best of their trade, highly recommended!
Dr. Molgaard and her staff were friendly, professional and took care of my dental issues and I could not be happier. I was treated kindly and with care and they worked with me to make my situation a breeze. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking an endodontist as she is highly knowledgeable and took a lot of time to explain all my issues and options and what they would entail. While I’m not exactly happy to have a root canal, they made it as good an experience as it could be. I’m so thankful for doctors like Dr. Molgaard.
